Empire Zones

The review of certain cases by the Empire Zone Designation Board (the “Board”) is solely a result of pending litigation, pursuant either to an order by the courts or a de novo review agreed to in consultation with the Attorney General’s office as a means to address legal challenges to the decertifications. This process is meant to resolve this litigation in a timely manner. In order to resolve this litigation and, in some cases, follow a court order, in consultation with the Attorney General’s office, the board initiated an open and thorough review process of the decertification of certain businesses in compliance with applicable law.

These documents are being posted pursuant to Section 103 of the Open Meetings Law.
